One way we can reduce our own foodprint is by ensuring we do not throw away perfectly good food! Here are some simple steps to make sure your eggs are still good to eat:
- Begin by filling a bowl up with water so that an egg could be easily submerged
- Place your egg-in-question on top of the water and see what happens
- If the egg sinks to the bottom and lays flat on its side it is very fresh while if it floats on the water surface this indicates that the egg is no longer fresh to eat
- If it is suspended in the water but submerged or if it is touching the bottom but upright, the egg is still edible but you might want to make the pancakes soon!
